4. Fees & Payment

Clients are responsible for session fees as agreed prior to the session. Payment is required via approved methods before or immediately after each session. Cancellation or rescheduling should be communicated at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations or missed sessions may incur a fee as per policy[cite: 34, 35, 36].

5. Crisis / Emergency Protocol

If a client experiences a crisis or feels at risk of harm to self or others outside of scheduled sessions, immediate action is required:

• Contact local emergency services (e.g., 10177 in South Africa for police, 0800 567 567 for suicide crisis)
• Use designated crisis hotlines or support resources
• Notify the counsellor if safe to do so

6. Client Rights

Clients have the right to:

• Receive information about the counselling process
• Ask questions or seek clarification at any time
• Withdraw from counselling or end sessions at their discretion
• Access records of their sessions in accordance with privacy policy
• Be treated with respect, professionalism, and without discrimination

6. Professional Boundaries

The counselling relationship is strictly professional. Physical intimacy, harassment, or exploitation are not permitted. Communication outside sessions will be kept professional.

7. Disclaimer of Liability (Premises Safety)

While every effort is made to provide a safe environment, clients enter the premises at their own risk. The counsellor and Landlord are not responsible for loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings.
